Google try to serve localized content to leverage on mobile audience

LocalizationWith the help of Google Webmaster tool sitemap and through html link tag it is very easy to communicate regional / language centric content to search engine. For example, if a business serves different regions / global audience (like US, Uk, India, Japen) and has Section / webpages caters to those specific regions. (Example: digitalmarketinganalytics.net/US, digitalmarektinganalytics.net/uk, etc). Inference: Google wants to serve more relevant / localized content to local audience. Because there is significant % of audience connecting internet through mobile. Google try to serve localized content to leverage on mobile audience.
